    • Tijuca Park

      Wander around Tijuca Park

Tijuca forest is a large stretch of rainforest on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro that offers the best and largest number of hiking trails in the area. The hiking trails vary from easy, short strolls through the lush greenery to steep inclines up peaks that rise up to a height of 900m. The trails will take visitors through verdant greenery where you will be able to witness some incredible sights such as roaring waterfalls and rare flora. For those who want to get their hearts pumping there is the possibility to hand glide from Pedra Bonita, a mountain peak within the forest and take it in scenery from up high. A literal bird’s eye view.

    • Indigenous Amazon

Meet indigenous tribes in The Amazon

The Yanomamo and Kayapo tribes have been living in The Amazon for thousands of years and have created a way of living away from civilisation, subsisting on their knowledge of plants, animals and food that have been passed down through generations. At first, these indigenous people  were nomadic until colonisation encroached on their territory forcing them to become sedentary. Now indigenous people live in resguardos (reserves) where they continue to practice their culture and traditions in a more modern setting. Travellers can visit these resguardos and spend some time with the indigenous people who will share their traditions and culture with you.

    • Sao Miguel das Missoes

Learn about the history of Sao Miguel das Missoes

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jesuit ruins in Sao Miguel das Missoes are remains of rich historical and cultural importance. The site was originally built in the 17th century on Guarani land by Jesuit missionaries who came to evangelise the Guarani Indian people. Sao Miguel das Missoes was one of seven reductions built during that time and the only one to survive the wars. The ruins of the cathedral that have been successfully preserved indicate the hard work that was put into creating such a large and intricately beautiful structure. It is a testament to the people and a rich part of their history, a must-visit when in Rio Grande do Sul.

    • Capoeira Lessons Salvador

      Take Capoeira lessons in Salvador

Capoeira is a martial art that originated in Salvador from the slaves that were brought here from West Africa. It is said that the slaves invented it while toiling in the sugarcane fields as a way to practice self-defense without raising the suspicions of their master as they include musical instruments and acrobatic moves to it giving the impression of a dance more than a method of self-defense. There are many places in Salvador that a visitor can go to, to learn the basics of capoeira, the most famous however is the School of Mestre Bimba who founded the modern version of capoeira. The techniques he implemented are still used to this day and lay the foundation to the art. It is an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon learning about an important part of Salvador’s history while learning new moves to impress your family and friends back home.

    • Jaguar Pantanal

      Explore The Pantanal

When it comes to wildlife, no place is better than The Pantanal and its incredibly large variety of animals. Birds are the main inhabitants of this region and keen birders will find their happiness here. There are a large number of rare birds here such as the red, blue and hyacinth macaws. The most elusive of animals, the jaguar, is equally a popular inhabitant of The Pantanal and can be spotted along the riverbanks at dusk. The rivers are also full of fish and water mammals such as giant otters and caimans. Amongst the activities on offer, fishing, kayaking and boat trips are the most popular as they provide fast and easy activities to the out of reach places.

    • Morro Branco

Walk through a red labyrinth in Morro Branco

Morro Branco is a steep contrast to the soft coastline of The North Coast. Jagged reed rocks jut out from the ground in a winding display similar to a Martian landscape. The red and orange colours of the rocks are so distinct but complement beautifully the standard blues. Travellers will want to bring their cameras here to capture the unique landscapes. The rock formations have created a maze like labyrinth through the coastline allowing visitors a complete immersion in the environment.

    Best time To visit Brazil

    • This is largely considered as the best period to visit Brazil as the temperatures reach their highest point with very little chance of rain.

It is also during this time that the Carnaval celebration takes place so you will be getting the most out of your stay during this time.

    • During these two months travellers will experience the most chance of rain. Especially along the northeastern coast where afternoons often tend to see a quick shower or two. Evenings tend to get cooler during this time extending onto September as you travel South.

    • Considered the rainy season, this is when travellers will encounter the most rainfall. Areas such as The Amazon are particularly subjected to this.

It is very humid and muggy in these areas but it also happens to be the best time to spot the rare fauna of the jungle.

    • The weather during this time remains consistent and mild even during the evenings, the weather is balmy and rarely dips below 20 degrees.

Animal enthusiasts should head to the Pantanal region as this is the best time to observe the animals that make the region their home.
