Since the flight reaches the capital before midday, we will continue the journey towards the Riobamba region. Along the way, we will make a pleasant stop for lunch, enjoying the local cuisine as we head into the Ecuadorian highlands.
In Latacunga, we will enjoy the Máchica Experience, a unique encounter with this ancestral Andean tradition. Travellers will take part in the entire artisanal process: from toasting the barley to grinding it by hand, just as it has been done for generations. They will also taste typical preparations such as nourishing coladas, banana cake, and the local liqueur Mashcazo. The warm, fire-lit setting is enriched with storytelling that conveys the history and soul of the region, creating a deep connection with its people and cultural heritage.
