Very close to the city of Tarapoto in the region of San Martin, Lamas offers the possibility to meet the indigenous Quechua-Lamista and discover their history. You will be able to admire their handicrafts and learn how to weave and make pottery at the association Warmi Wasi. While you’re there, make sure you visit the medieval castle.
Discover Pre-inca cities and temples

Trujillo is a must destination if you want to learn about Peru’s ancient cultures and visit captivating archaeological sites. From there, you’ll be able to see Chan Chan the biggest city ever built in Adobe bricks and Huacas del Sol and de la Luna two religious structures built by Moche civilisation and decorated with extraordinary friezes.
Hike in Huascaran National Park

Located in the heart of Peru’s Cordillera Blanca, Huascaran is the world’s biggest tropical mountain range and a real paradise for hikers. The most famous trek is the Santa Cruz, which will take you through stunning sceneries such as turquoise lagoon, snow-capped mountains, and tropical glaciers.
Visit Chiclayo and its surroundings

Even if Chiclayo isn’t the most attractive city of Peru, visiting this city offers a perfect opportunity to get off the beaten track and meet Peruvians. It’s also the base to visit two of the most famous sites for Pre-Columbian art the Royal Tombs of Sipan and the Tucume pyramids.

Cajamarca is a very charming city and one of the most important in northern Peru. You will be able to admire some majestic colonial monuments such as the Belen Monument Complex and San Francisco church and take a dip in the Incan baths.

Mancora is the perfect place to unwind and soak up some sun while sipping a pisco sour. But if resting is not on your list, head to Vichayito Beach to learn to kitesurf or South Beach to take some surf lessons.
